A totalidade da estrutura do navio é de aço maciço, desenhada para satisfazer os requisitos D1A1 da DNV no design máximo do calado, para uma vida útil acima dos 30 anos.
A propulsão do navio é assegurada por duas linhas de veios, com dois motores a diesel de média velocidade, de 3 900 kW cada, e dois motores elétricos auxiliares de 300 kW cada, para operação a baixa velocidade, acoplados a caixas multiplicadoras reversíveis, que operam hélices de passo variável.
