The Ro-Ro/Passenger vessel Sicilia, from Baleària, arrived at the West Sea shipyard on February 27 for conversion works in order to operate at Liquefied Natural Gas.
The main works were:
- The installation of a Liquefied Natural Gas storage tank 25 meters long, 5 metres in diameter and weighing approximately 160 tonnes;
- The retrofit of the two main dual-fuel engines, which will allow the ship to operate on Liquefied Natural Gas and fuel;
- Installation of around 80 tonnes of steel to create new spaces.
