On 12 July, 23 engineers from the Civil Engineering College – North and from the Viana do Castelo Delegation of the Portuguese Engineers Association made a technical visit to West Sea’s facilities.

The visit was accompanied by Renato Amorim, West Sea’s Commercial Director, who explained the engineering involved in the construction, repair and conversion of vessels at the shipyard. They saw the whole construction process, from the building of the blocks, the pre-outfitting, docking, the plumbing workshop, the mechanical workshop, and outfitting to the final product.

The Portuguese Engineers Association is the public representative association of graduates in Engineering courses. The Portuguese Engineers Association was created in 1936 and succeeded the Association of Portuguese Civil Engineers, founded in 1869.
